Caroline Phaneuf, B.A., M.A.: International Communications & Marketing Consultant

With nearly 25 years’ experience in communications, marketing, public relations and broadcast journalism, I offer wide-ranging expertise in both English and French. Having worked for multi-million dollar companies, small and medium-sized businesses as well as public organizations and foundations, my experience spans a variety of industries: health, engineering, construction, heavy industry, education, aerospace, e-commerce, finance, financial technology, politics and fashion, among others.

I started my career as a journalist in both radio and TV, reporting and anchoring the news and hosting public affairs shows. Using the vast experience and knowledge I garnered during those key years, I went on to lead corporate affairs and communications teams, managing a number of portfolios, both in external and internal communications. These positions leveraged my strengths in strategic communications planning, crisis management, multiple stakeholder relations, media relations, change management communications and employee engagement.

As a consultant, I am often solicited to conceive communications and marketing strategies and plans; conceptualize and develop complete rebranding strategies for small and medium-sized organizations; implement communications and marketing plans; manage media, client and community relations; and elaborate communications, marketing, business development and sales materials such as websites, brochures, presentations, speeches, advertisements, magazine articles, videos, social media content, press releases, etc.

Nearly 25 years of experience in a variety of industries means I can help your organization define, achieve – and even surpass – its communications & marketing goals.

I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts from Montreal’s Concordia University with a double major in Journalism and Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Political Science from McGill University in Montreal. I am former Chair of the Parents Committee at the English Montreal School Board (EMSB), a past director of the Board of the Montreal Chest Institute Foundation and a former Governing Board member at Edinburgh School. Previously, I co-organized the EMSB Parents Conference, was Public Relations Chair of a fundraising committee at Edinburgh School, and was formerly an Executive Committee member at a local preschool.
